FAIRFIELD — A tractor-trailer rig hauling grapes lost part of its load Wednesday morning as it entered the truck scales, slowing traffic on westbound Interstate 80 in Fairfield.
According to the California Highway Patrol’s Traffic Management Center, the first calls came in around 10:19 a.m., reporting the truck had lost part of its load in the slow lane. About 2,000 pounds of grapes forced the CHP to close the right-hand lane leading to the truck scales.
The roadway was cleared and reopened by 11:45 a.m.
