FAIRFIELD — A proposal by Stockton-based A.G. Spanos Construction for a 286-unit apartment complex on 13 acres along Business Center Drive near Solano Community College goes before Fairfield Planning Commissioners at their meeting Wednesday.

Community Development Department staff recommend that commissioners approve the Green Valley Apartments at 3900 Business Center Drive.

The Planning Commission in 2006 approved a development review request for a 408-unit project of apartments and townhouses at the site. The plans were changed due to the economy and the 284-unit Paesino Verde Apartments won commission approval in 2008.

That approval is still valid, the Community Development staff report notes. The Fairfield City Council in 2005 certified an environmental impact report for the Fairfield Corporate Commons.

A total of 537 parking spaces are required for Green Valley Apartments, but developers would provide 567 spaces, according to the staff report.

Commissioners meet at 6 p.m. in the City Council chamber at 1000 Webster St.
