FAIRFIELD — Hikers can explore the ecosystems of the Rockville Trails Preserve on Saturday.
The Rockville Trails Preserve hike is from 8 a.m. to noon and is guided by docent Steve Pressley.
The new preserve is accessible only by docent-led hikes. Participants of all ages are welcome, but they must be prepared for an intermediate to strenuous-paced hike of four to six miles up and down rugged, steep and slippery hills on rough, rocky, uneven ground, according to a press release. There is no water and there are no bathrooms or parking lots.
Registration is requested at www.solanolandtrust.com or by calling 745-1913.
