FAIRFIELD — A motorcycle crash Tuesday on eastbound Interstate 80 in Fairfield temporarily shut down two lanes of traffic during the evening commute.
The crash was reported at 5:15 p.m. near the California Highway Patrol truck scales.
A traffic alert was issued shortly before 5:30 p.m. as eastbound traffic slowed through Fairfield, according to the CHP website. One of the closed lanes reopened minutes later, and all lanes were open by 5:45 p.m.
The incident was described as a minor-injury accident on the CHP website.
The 50-year-old eastbound CHP truck scales are closed as crews prepare to open the new scales facility located just east of the existing scales. The project shifted the eastbound I-80 connector to eastbound Highway 12 closer to the existing scales.
