Police issue update on fatal crash investigation

FAIRFIELD — Police on Friday announced that they are working with the District Attorney’s Office to review information related to a fatal crash Feb. 23, but a determination about potential criminal charges has not been made.

The crash occurred shortly before 5:15 p.m. on Lopes Road at the intersection of Canyon Hills Drive and left Ronald Brackett, 31, of Fairfield, dead. The driver of a second vehicle was seriously injured.

Police after the crash were searching for the driver of a black Toyota Tundra that was seen leaving the area at the time of the crash. They announced Friday that they found the driver and obtained a statement.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Fairfield Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 428-7300, the 24-hour tip line at 428-7345 or Crime Stoppers at 644-7867.
