FAIRFIELD — Police have scheduled a shaken baby prevention presentation Wednesday to teach people about the sometimes deadly consequences of shaking an infant.
The presentation is designed for new or expecting parents, infant care providers, baby sitters or industry professionals. Its purpose is to help people set up a plan to deal safely with inconsolable infants before they are required by circumstances to do so.
It’s organized by the Family Violence Unit within the Fairfield Police Department.
The presentation takes place at 6:30 p.m. Willow Hall at the Fairfield Community Center, 1000 Kentucky St. Doors open at 6 p.m. so guests can visit tables where information from local service providers LIFT3 Support Group, SafeQuest Solano, Child Haven and the Children’s Nurturing Project will be available.
LIFT3 is an acronym for Leading Individuals Forward Through Tough Times.
It’s free and open to the general public as well. Refreshments will be served.
Those who wish to attend are asked to RSVP on the Police Department’s Facebook page under the events tab, or call 428-7600. For more information, call Detective Steve Trojanowski Jr. at 428-7552.
