FAIRFIELD — Surviving cancer is a feat worth celebrating.

That’s why the NorthBay Cancer Center will host the 18th annual Cancer Survivors Day on June 1 at The Clubhouse at Rancho Solano.

Cancer survivors will have the opportunity to mingle during a buffet luncheon that features a series of speakers, according to a press release.

Brian Vikstrom, a hematologist/oncologist at NorthBay, will inform guests about the latest cancer treatments. A “Speaking from the Heart” segment in the afternoon will feature inspirational stories. Other participants include representatives from the Genentech Patient Ambassador program, American Cancer Society, Pink Lemonade, NorthBay Glamour Room and Pink Heals. Guitarist Bruce Waelbrock, a patient at NorthBay, is scheduled to perform with his band.

Cancer Survivors Day will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. To register for this free event, call the American Cancer Society by May 23 at 720-0104. Space is limited, therefore registration is limited to four guests.

The Clubhouse at Rancho Solano is located at 3250 Rancho Solano Parkway.
