Motorcyclist hurt in Highway 12 accident

FAIRFIELD — A solo motorcycle accident on Highway 12 near Chadbourne Road on Saturday evening left the rider with major injuries.

The accident happened at 8:20 p.m. Fairfield firefighters arrived to find the motorcycle on fire and a small grass fire. They quickly extinguished both, according to reports on the scanner and from the Fire Department.

The rider was taken to the trauma center at Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center with major injuries, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
