FAIRFIELD — A Fairfield man with dementia who went missing this weekend was found Wednesday, police said.

Charles Oler, 69, had walked away from his home on Tulip Drive in Fairfield at 6 p.m. Sunday. He was last seen on Peach Tree Drive.

Oler was found walking around the Suisun City train station near some police officers in the early morning hours, said Fairfield Police Sgt. Matt Thomas.

He was seen by medical personnel and found to be in good health, according to a police press release. Oler was reunited with his family shortly thereafter.

I am glad this man was found safe and has returned to his family. Families can help prevent this kind of problem by buying shoes with GPS in them. These are made specifically for people with dementia so that family can quickly locate them.

Lil, good information thank you for that! We just lost our sister-in-law three weeks ago to dementia. A horrific illness and any help you can find is essential.

This is good news! I am especially glad because of the rude and insensitive comment left on the previous article. This shows that not everyone in FF looks alike, doofus. Anyway... glad he's back with his family.
