FAIRFIELD — The Tri-City NAACP has a full agenda for its next meeting this weekend.
Up for discussion will be setting priorities for 2014, keeping the community informed on Common Core State Standards and an update on outreach efforts for the new Affordable Care Act. The group will also discuss setting up a legal redress process to help community members who ask for assistance, and continue work toward establishing a youth unit.
The Tri-City NAACP is an affiliate of the statewide and national organization and serves the cities of Fairfield, Vacaville, Suisun City and Travis Air Force Base. The NAACP is the nation’s oldest civil rights organization.
The meeting is scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in the Zoe Building, 1745 Enterprise Drive, Room V115. The public is invited.
“We have a lot of plans for 2014 and will need a lot of help,” branch president Frederick B. Young Jr. said in a press release. “We hope people will come and get involved.”
