FAIRFIELD — A crash along Ramsey Road left a Fairfield girl dead early Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Savana Price, 16, was driving a 1998 Nissan Frontier, at an unknown time, south on Ramsey Road at a high rate of speed. For reasons not yet known, the vehicle crossed the northbound lane of Ramsey Road and continued off the road into a dirt embankment and became airborne, CHP reports. The vehicle continued 60 feet where it then hit with a tree.
Price was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle, CHP reports. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident was reported at 5:33 a.m. Investigators did not know Friday whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, CHP reports. The two left lanes of the roadway were closed for two hours so CHP officers could investigate the crash and for crews to clear the scene.
Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call the Solano CHP office at 428-2100.
