By From page A3 | January 17, 2014

FAIRFIELD — Households that earn less than $52,000 a year are eligible for free tax preparation Feb. 1 at the Civic Center Library.

IRS-certified volunteer preparers will be at the library for the 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. event that’s open to walk-in clients.

Taxpayers should bring their income tax documents, Social Security cards or ITIN numbers for family members, child care provider information if applicable for the Child Care Tax Credit, and a voided check for those interested in direct deposit for their refund.

The Civic Center Library is located at 1150 Kentucky St. in Fairfield.

Additional Saturday events are planned Feb. 8 at the Vacaville Public Library-Cultural Center at 1020 Ulatis Drive, Feb. 15 at the Suisun City Public Library, 601 Pintail Drive, and Feb. 22 at the Vallejo Public Library, 505 Santa Clara St.

Eligible residents who cannot attend the Saturday sessions can still receive free tax help through April 15 at sites throughout Solano County. Call 211 or visit www.earnitkeepitsaveit.org to locate a site.
