FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Police Officer’s Association and the Fairfield Police Department are sponsoring the third annual Fallen Officers Shooting Competition on Saturday to benefit a local school.
The event will challenge local, state and federal police and military personnel to compete in multiple courses, the city said. All proceeds from this charity event will benefit the Fairfield-Suisun Public Safety Academy.
The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fairfield’s Art Koch Training Facility, 1717 Rex Clift Lane.
Fairfield police officers, dispatchers, Solano County Sheriff’s Office correctional officers and area firearms instructors will volunteer at the event.
The competition is named in honor of all Solano County law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. More than $27,000 was raised the first two years for local youth charities. Register at www.fairfieldpoa.com.
