By From page A3 | January 20, 2014

FAIRFIELD — The Edge Community Church will host its inaugural Great Race on Feb. 15.

The race, founded on the idea of community service, is open to teams of three that will go to previously approved retail establishments and do acts of service for a 10- to 15-minute window.

Entry fee is a donated can of food. Prizes will be handed out to the first-, second- and third-place finishers.

The race is set to run from 2 to 5 p.m. It starts at the grass field across from Fairfield’s City Hall. Dinner will be provided from 5 to 6 p.m. at the finish line at 1101 Horizon Drive, Fairfield.

So if they really wanted to clean up the community, they'd have a race to see who could push the most shopping carts to the finish line.
