FAIRFIELD — A single-vehicle accident left a pickup on its roof in the bushes along eastbound Interstate 80, but injured no one, Saturday afternoon.
The driver of the white Mazda truck told the California Highway Patrol he was driving in the right-hand lane when a tire blew out at 60 mph.
As the driver veered to the right, he lost control of the truck between the Travis Boulevard and Air Base Parkway exits and the vehicle went off the pavement and flipped, landing in the bushes, on the freeway side of the fence behind the Driven Raceway building.
There was no other damage, and Highway Patrol Officer Erik Peterson said the truck just missed a call box on the shoulder.
The Fairfield Fire department and an ambulance also responded to the accident, but the driver declined medical attention.
