The crash happened near the Waterman Boulevard exit. One person had minor injuries.
Three lanes were blocked, backing up traffic with reported delays of more than an hour.
A regional traffic alert was issued at 3:16 p.m. but canceled at 4:07 p.m. when all lanes re-opened.
Eastbound traffic was slowed Tuesday afternoon by a seven-alarm fire in a neighborhood that backs up on the freeway. The fire gutted five homes and damaged several others.
