FAIRFIELD — A candidate for a Solano County congressional seat this week named a former Republican Party official as his chief fundraiser.
Assemblyman Dan Logue, R-Chico, announced the selection of Julie Westlake to lead his finance team. The announcement came in a press release Monday.
Logue has announced his candidacy for the 3rd Congressional District seat, currently held by Rep. John Garamendi, D-Walnut Grove.
Westlake is a former finance director for the California Republican Party. Her experience includes key roles with the Mitt Romney for President, Steve Poizner for Governor and Carly Fiorina for U.S. Senate campaigns, according to the release announcing her selection to lead Logue’s campaign finance team.
She was the chief fundraiser for Colusa County Supervisor Kim Vann in her unsuccessful attempt to unseat Garamendi in 2012.
Garamendi and Logue serve an overlapping constituency.
The 3rd Congressional District includes much of Solano County including Fairfield and Vacaville, and Travis Air Force Base and Beale Air Force Base. It extends east to include Marysville and Yuma City.
Logue represent the 3rd Assembly District, which includes Marysville and Yuba City along with Beale Air Force Base.
The election is in November 2014.
