FAIRFIELD — Classic cars and chili will be in the spotlight Saturday on North Texas Street.
The North Texas Street Business Association is presenting the Historic Route 40 Car Show and Chili Cookoff. Texas Street once served as Highway 40, until the late 1940s, when the highway got relocated to the present-day Interstate 80 alignment.
Visitors can see the cars and sample chili made by Fairfield restaurants. They can vote for their favorite vehicle. Children can visit the Kids Zone and enjoy arts, crafts, face painting and a jump house.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Da Costa’s Autoworld at 1907 N. Texas St.
