FAIRFIELD — Martin Luther King Jr. celebrations will continue Monday with a breakfast hosted by the Fairfield-Suisun City-Vacaville Section of the National Council of Negro Women.
The eighth annual event will feature the theme of ”How Close Are We to the Dream?” with keynote speaker Brenda Knight of the Ladies in Red, a women’s empowerment group.
The breakfast will begin at 9 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 2000 Gateway Blvd.
Rebuilding Together has planned three holiday workdays at three locations in Solano County from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday.
It’s the group’s fourth annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service in which they partner with Kaiser Permanente to refurbish various buildings around the county.
The work day in Fairfield will take place at the Travis Air Museum, which is on Travis Air Force Base. Advance registration was necessary to participate at this location.
Work in Vacaville will take place at the Center for Imaginative Reuse, 1040 Mason St., and work in Vallejo will be at the Mare Island Museum, 1100 Railroad Avenue, Building 46.
