FAIRFIELD — A two-vehicle crash on Air Base Parkway sent a man and an elderly couple to the hospital Friday afternoon.
Fairfield police received a report at approximately 3:40 p.m. of an accident on eastbound Air Base Parkway at Clay Bank Road, said Sgt. Jeff Osgood.
Officers found a wrecked two-door BMW and a four-door Buick blocking the middle lane of Air Base Parkway just east of Clay Bank Road.
The wreck had occurred at the intersection, Osgood said. Eastbound Air Base Parkway was closed temporarily.
All occupants of the vehicles were taken to area hospitals with injuries that were not deemed life-threatening, Osgood said. One car was occupied by a 50-year-old man and the other vehicle was occupied by a 72-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman.
Police were investigating the possibility that one driver failed to stop and broadsided another vehicle, Osgood said.
“We know somebody ran the red light,” he said.
