FAIRFIELD — A purchase of aerial image services from Solano County will cost $101,011 over the next six years and provide the city with photographs taken by low-flying airplanes.

The new agreement, which the Fairfield City Council approved Tuesday, will cost $16,835 a year and update images used to support emergency services, maintenance and planning for public infrastructure.

Solano Regional GIS Consortium is a cooperative of local government agencies within Solano County that work together to share spatial data, pool resources and provide geographic information systems expertise to members, according to a city staff report. Vacaville, Suisun City, Rio Vista and the Solano Irrigation District are among agencies that participate in the project.
