FAIRFIELD — An accidental shooting at a Nevada Street home Saturday afternoon sent one to the hospital with serious injuries, said Sgt. Randy Boggs.

A man inside a home on the 700 block of Nevada Street was moving some items, including a shotgun, at around 3:40 p.m. when the gun accidentally fell to the ground, discharged and shot the man in the abdomen.

Boggs said the man did not know the gun was loaded. He was taken to NorthBay Medical Center with serious injuries.

Guns don't shoot people, people shoot people. At least that's the mantra isn't it? Glad this guy didn't shoot a kid with his shotgun. What a waste of ammo though.

I thought the trigger had to be pulled in order for a gun to go off! Maybe I'm wrong or.....

So, one gunshot, and how many officers are standing in the front yard for who knows how long after they KNOW it was an unfortunate, but easily preventable accident? What a waste of resources. This photo must have been taken a while after the gun went off since the DR managed to get there. By the way don't use the word idi0t in any post or the DR will not post it! But look at the bright side, they spelled all the words right!

I do believe all the ideas you have offered in your post. They're very convincing and can definitely work. Nonetheless, the posts are too quick for beginners. May you please extend them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.
