5 cars involved in freeway crash

FAIRFIELD — A traffic accident took place during Tuesday morning rush hour on westbound Interstate 80 near the Interstates 80 and 680 interchange.

Five cars were involved, California Highway Patrol Officer Chris Parker said. The result was property damage only and a minimal impact to traffic flow, he said. The accident got cleared in about a half-hour.

The incident happened at about 7:40 a.m. west of the interchange. Parker did not know the cause.
