FAIRFIELD — The Solano Winds Community Concert Band will combine with the Walnut Creek Concert Band next weekend for “Songs and Dances” and “Nobility.”
Each ensemble will present its own selections, which will be followed by a combined performance of three American pieces.
The Walnut Creek Concert Band, celebrating its 26th anniversary, will handle the “Songs and Dances” numbers with tunes such as “Candide Suite,” and “Suite of Old American Dances.”
The Solano Winds, which was formed in 1995, will perform “Procession of Nobles” and “The Symphonic Duke” and two other pieces.
The musicians will unite for “American Overture for Band,” “America the Beautiful” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever.”
On April 6, the Solano Winds will perform at The Association of Concert Bands Convention in San Ramon.
