FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Center for Creative Arts will be home to the county’s first Lunafest, a traveling film festival of award-winning short films by, for and about women.
This season, a program of nine films will travel to more than 150 cities and screen in front of 20,000 people.
Each year, various organizations bring Lunafest to their communities and raise money for their local nonprofits, as well as for breast cancer research.
The Soroptimists of Central Solano County is hosting Lunafest on Nov. 7. A portion of the proceeds will benefit breast cancer research and the Solano Family Justice Center.
Tickets must be purchased before the event. To purchase tickets, contact Lynn Recknagel at email@example.com.
All Lunafest proceeds are donated to charity, with 15 percent going to the Breast Cancer Fund and 85 percent to community organizations.
To date, Lunafest has raised more than $1.2 million for more than 600 worthy causes.
