FAIRFIELD — Outlaw brothers and a boy killed by a lightning bolt take center stage at movie theaters this week.
Billy Bob Thorton is featured in “The Baytown Outlaws,” rated R. The comedy centers on redneck brothers who must shoot their way through attractive female assassins.
“Struck By Lightning” is the tale of a high school senior who suffers an untimely death in his school’s parking lot. The last few weeks of his life are shown via flashbacks. Dermot Mulroney and Allison Janney star.
Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin and Emma Stone are featured in “Gangster Squad,” rated R, which is the tale of mob king Mickey Cohen, circa 1949.
“A Haunted House,” starring Marlon Wayans and Cedric the Entertainer, is a spoof of the “Paranormal Activity” movies. The twist: It’s not a haunted house. Instead, a woman is possessed by a demon. It’s rated R.

“Storage 24” is not rated and tells the story of friends chased by a mystery predator in the corridors of a London storage facility.
Photographer Kevin Mazur pulls together a cast that includes Elton John and Jennifer Aniston for his first film, “$ellebrity,” which takes a look at our obsession with pop culture. It’s not rated.
In “Fairhaven,” a young man gets a healthy dose of reality from two friends when he returns home for his father’s funeral. It’s not rated.
