VACAVILLE — Cheating Daylight, featuring Vacaville residents Jesse Crosson, Kyle Crosson and Jaden Crosson, will perform at the 2013 Malibu Music Awards Show that wraps up the weeklong Malibu Music Festival.
The festival kicks off Oct. 11. Cheating Daylight will perform Oct. 18 and follow that with an Oct. 19 encore show at Pepperdine University’s Smothers Theatre.
The band has also been nominated as the 2013 Best New Artist of the Year at the Malibu Music Awards.
Cheating Daylight has received seven nominations for three separate industry award shows over the past six months. The Malibu Music Awards Show will be co-hosted by actor Robert Hays and comedian-actor Dick Van Dyke.
The rock quintet is nominated as the 2013 Rock Artist of the Year, 2013 Rock Album of the Year and 2013 Rock Single of the Year at the 23rd annual Los Angeles Music Awards.
The Artists in Music Awards have also nominated the band in the categories of 2014 Best Indie Artist, 2014 Best Alternative Artist and 2014 Best Rock Artist. Cheating Daylight will perform live during the Artists in Music Awards red carpet event at the Hollywood House of Blues on Feb. 7, 2014.
Cheating Daylight, which also includes brothers Jacob and Connor Gill, of Cobb, is touring in support of the band’s sophomore recording, “Road to Somewhere.”
Upcoming Northern California tour dates include the Halloween Costume Bash, with special guests Robbie Jimenez and K-Town on Nov. 1 at the Soper Reese Theatre in Lakeport. On Nov. 10, Cheating Daylight will headline a six-act bill, at 924 Gilman in Berkeley. The hometown crowd will find the band on Dec. 3 at Merriment on Main in Vacaville.
