FAIRFIELD — Star-studded casts greet moviegoers this week as a variety of movies open Friday.
Take a ride with “The Croods“ as they take the world’s first family road trip. After their cave is destroyed, the family goes on a humorous search for a new home. The cast of this animated comedy includes Nicholas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds and Catherine Keener. The movie is rated PG.
Tina Fey, Paul Rudd, Nat Wolff and Michael Sheen star in “Admission.” The comedy is about the surprising detours life has to offer as happiness is sought. It stars Fey as an admissions officer at Princeton University. The movie is rated PG-13.
“Olympus has Fallen,” which is rated R, stars Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett and Aaron Eckhart. In this drama, the White House is captured and the president is kidnapped.
Opening to limited engagements:
“The Sapphires,” a comedy-drama about four young, talented Australian Aboriginal girls who entertain U.S. troops in 1968 Vietnam. Along the way they learn about love, friendship and war. The movie stars Chris O’Dowd and is rated PG-13.
Liam Hemsworth stars in “Love and Honor,” a drama romance. He stars as a young soldier who gets dumped by his hometown girlfriend. He wants to sneak home and win her back. It is rated PG-13.
“Starbuck” is rated R and stars Patrick Huard as a perpetual screw up who tries to take control of his life. He’s donated sperm hundreds of times and finds out he’s the biological father of 533 children.
