VACAVILLE — The Vacaville school board will recognize the upcoming Red Ribbon Week with a resolution expected to be passed in its regular meeting Thursday.
Set for 7 p.m. at the Educational Services Center, 401 Nut Tree Road, the meeting will feature the board approving a resolution declaring its support of the alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse awareness campaign.
Red Ribbon Week is scheduled for Oct. 23-31 and is a statewide initiative to raise awareness of the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and drug use among young people.
The board is also set to hear reports from the student representatives from the four city high schools.
Additionally, the board is expected to appoint Tracee Stacy to the Measure V Citizens Oversight Committee and to name Kimberly Fullard as an alternate member.
Stacy’s term would be for two years – November 2013 to October 2015. Fullard would join the committee should a vacancy arise.
Measure V is a 2001 bond measure approved by voters for up to $101.3 million for school renovation and construction projects throughout the district.
