State college summer arts program seeks students

FAIRFIELD — A Southern California arts program is seeking teenagers involved in the performing, visual, literacy and media arts.

The California State Summer School for the Arts is located in Valencia and is looking for 520 teens interested in the summer art institute, which runs from July 12 through Aug. 8.

Instruction is offered in animation, film/video, creative writing, dance, music, theater and the visual arts. Students receive three California State University credit units for completed work. Scholarships and financial aid are available.

Applications are due on or before Feb. 28. Support for filming, accompaniment and photography is available through Performing Arts Network (Solano College Theatre Association).
