Solano College to host annual MLK event

FAIRFIELD — Solano Community College will host its 13th annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday in the campus theater.

The event will include interviews with civil rights veterans Sherie Labedis and Charles McLaurin conducted by middle school students. Three locals will be honored for lifetime achievements: Jim Bracy, a retired Solano College vice president; Sarah Chapman, a current Solano College trustee; and C.C. Yin, a local philanthropist and McDonald’s franchise owner.

Musical performances will also be a part of the event.
