FAIRFIELD — The Solano Community College governing board will be greeted with various agenda items to do with administrative positions when it meets Wednesday at the Vacaville Center.
The contract of the college’s president, Jowel Laguerre, is up for approval. The $237,350 salary is based on 223 duty days of service per year. On top of the base salary are professional and vehicle allowances, plus a stipend for a doctorate degree.
The Student Services Department reorganization created two new job descriptions: associate dean of students – financial aid, EOPS and veterans; and associate dean of students – admissions, assessment and scheduling.
This informational item does not require approval and serves as a request for reclassification, according to staff reports. Both positions fall under the Administrative Leadership Group Range 48, which is between $88,250.56 and $111,626.94.
The college is also looking to hire an executive assistant. It will add a second position in the president’s office that was eliminated due to budget cuts around three years ago. The executive assistant will be under the executive coordinator position that’s held by Judy Spencer.
It falls under the Administrative Leadership Group Range 32, which is between $48,163.49 and $60,790.86.
The governing board meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. The Vacaville Center is located at 2001 N. Village Parkway. The meeting is in Room 140.
