Career fair, auto show headline weekend college campus event

FAIRFIELD — Solano Community College will be the site for the third annual Auto Body Club Car Show, which will occur in conjunction with the college’s annual Career Education Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Both events are part of Celebrate SCC 2014.

The car show will feature a barbecue, music, auctions and a drawing. It will occur on the grass next to the auto shop’s career education open house. The car show is supported by several student organizations such as Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA); the Theatre Club; French Club; Alpha Gamma Sigma; and Associated Students Solano College.

Select rooms, labs and shops will be open for visiting during the Career Education Fair. The hands-on event will feature numerous programs such as aeronautics, art and design, biotechnology, business, public safety and nursing. There will also be information on financial aid, counseling and applying for admissions.

Five iPads will be given away during the education fair, as well – one for every hour.
