FAIRFIELD — Solano Community College is ready for Oct. 15.
That’s the day the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges is expecting a follow-up report to be mailed from the college regarding the four areas of concern it asked the college to address. Areas of work included diversity data gathering, distance learning, student learning outcome effectiveness and a clearly written code of ethics for personnel.
The college’s Governing Board approved the final draft accreditation follow-up report Wednesday evening after a brief presentation by Annette Dambrosio, the accreditation coordinator. The final draft report included a more formally structured format divided into two parts, Dambrosio said.
Dambrosio said she is pleased with the outcome and credited a wide collaborative effort.
“I hope the (accrediting) commission agrees with all of our work,” she said.
Solano College has battled accreditation issues for several years and was making headway, moving off sanctions in 2011, but falling back onto the lowest level of sanctions, warning status, in 2012.
Copies of the report were available at the governing board meeting and should be available online soon at www.solano.edu-Accreditation.
