Vallejo murder suspect arrested in Peru

FAIRFIELD — A man who allegedly committed murder on Feb. 4, 2013, in Vallejo is to be ultimately extradited from Lima, Peru, back to Vallejo.

William Cordoba of Vallejo was arrested March 21 by Peruvian authorities, a Vallejo Police Department press release said. A search by the Vallejo Police Department in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Service revealed that he was there.

Cordoba is a suspect in the murder case of Vallejo resident Jimmie Richardson, the press release said. Richardson was found dead on the streets of the city.

In the press release, Vallejo police recognized the work of the U.S. Marshals Service, the Office of International Affairs, the Solano County District Attorney’s Office and the Peruvian law enforcement officials.
