VACAVILLE — Police arrested an ex-con early Monday after receiving a call about someone with a gun near a bar on the 300 block of Merchant Street.
Gilbert Zepeda, 34, of Vacaville, was arrested after police got a detailed description of the suspect. Police found a loaded .45 caliber handgun on Zepeda, according to a news release, and during the search of him found a useable quantity of suspected methamphetamine, police said.
Zepeda had a prior felony conviction, so he was not allowed to possess a firearm or ammunition, according to state law. He was booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of possession a controlled substance, receiving stolen property and possessing a firearm as a felon. Bail was set at $25,000.
