Teen dies in Vallejo’s 15th homicide of 2013

FAIRFIELD — Police in Vallejo are investigating the city’s 15th homicide of the year after a teenager was gunned down late Friday while sitting in a car.

The victim, 18, was in the driver’ seat of a white Honda shortly after 11:15 p.m. on the 600 block of Louisiana Street, with at least two other teens in the car. A brown vehicle similar to the Honda drove up and someone inside opened fire, police report, hitting the Honda numerous times. The vehicle was last seen headed north on Marin Street from Louisiana Street.

The driver of the white Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released. A 16-year-old passenger in the Honda was also shot and was taken to a local hospital. His injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. A 15-year-old passenger was shot and was taken to a local trauma center, where police report he was in serious condition.

No motive for the shooting was released Saturday as the investigation continued.
