FAIRFIELD — The man accused of kidnapping, raping and killing a 13-year-old Suisun City girl pleaded not guilty Thursday at a brief court appearance.
Anthony L. Jones, 32, of Fairfield, was ordered to return to court Wednesday, when dates for a probable cause hearing may be scheduled.
Judge Peter B. Foor appointed a pair of attorneys from the Public Defender’s Office to serve as his legal team. Foor also assigned the case to Judge E. Bradley Nelson.
Jones is being held with no bail. He was arrested a week after the naked body of Genelle Conway-Allen was found Feb. 1, dumped in Allan Witt Park.
Jones is accused of murder with three special circumstances, making him eligible for the death penalty. Those include kidnap, rape and lewd and lascivious acts with a child, according Solano County Deputy District Attorney Terry Ray.
