By From page A3 | July 03, 2014

FAIRFIELD — Presiding Judge E. Bradley Nelson of the Solano County Superior Court conducted the annual grand jury impanelment ceremony this week at the Hall of Justice.

Robert G. Weldon of Benicia was chosen for the 2014-15 term and impaneled Monday, along with Earl A. Lawrence Jr., Maria McIntyre, Janet Roberts and Walter Scherff of Fairfield; Harold Griggs of Rio Vista; Barbara Pisching and Warren Richardson of Suisun City; Andrew Aragon, Charles Brown, Frank Calderon, Ralph Petty, Terry Riddle, Ross Riesche and Richard Watson of Vacaville; and Clyde Huff, Joyce Reynolds, Tonya Williams and David Yates of Vallejo.

The grand jury is an investigative body and part of the judicial branch of government. The Solano County grand jury is a permanent body, with members serving one-year terms.

The three primary functions of the grand jury are to be a watchdog over local government, to investigate citizen complaints about public agencies and officials and to occasionally investigate criminal matters when asked to do so by the district attorney.

Well there certainly is some government corruption in this county, yet I haven't read one thing about them investigating the DA or the Sheriff
