SUISUN CITY — Suisun City police on Monday recovered the vehicle taken in a carjacking Saturday and continue to seek the suspect.
A bronze Toyota Venza was reported in the parking lot of Crystal Middle School, 400 Whispering Bay Lane, at 7:20 a.m. Monday. The vehicle matched the description of a car taken in a carjacking Saturday, but the license plates were missing.
A check of the vehicle identification number returned a match to the car taken Saturday, so the Venza was towed and stored for further processing and evidence collection.
According to police, a Suisun City resident returned to his home on the 700 block of Sunset Avenue around 8:15 a.m. Saturday when he was hit in the face by the suspect. The suspect forced the victim into the car and showed a gun and knife before driving the victim to an ATM where money was withdrawn, according to police.
The suspect then drove the victim around Fairfield before dropping him near Lagoon Valley Park in Vacaville. The victim flagged down a passing motorist, who called police.
The car’s California license plates – 6HFV252 – are still outstanding, according to police, who say they are associated with a person who is considered to be armed and dangerous.
The suspect is described as a tall, heavyset Hispanic man in his late 20s or early 30s, wearing an orange construction-type shirt. He is wanted on suspicion of kidnapping, carjacking and robbery.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Suisun City Police Department at 421-7373.
