SUISUN CITY — Suisun City police on Wednesday arrested 29-year-old Michael Jackson of Fairfield on suspicion of shooting another Fairfield man he had argued with in the gut, Suisun City police announced Thursday in a press release.
The arrest is the latest development in the investigation of an early Saturday morning shooting that left a 24-year-old Fairfield man shot in the abdomen after an argument between the victim and the suspect on the 600 block of Main Street.
Witnesses told police the two had argued, and the suspect, as he was driving away moments later, shot the Fairfield man, according to Suisun police. The victim is in stable condition after surgery, police said.
Helped with witness interviews and viewing footage from a local establishment’s security cameras with an eyewitness, Officer Lindsey Sanford identified the suspect as Jackson.
The Solano County SWAT Team located Jackson at his home, arrested him and turned him over to the Suisun City police. A search of the residence by Suisun City police allegedly uncovered the handgun police believe was used in the shooting, police said.
Police said Jackson was booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Jackson’s name does not appear on the day’s jail booking report for Wednesday.
