FAIRFIELD — Ryan Judson Moore, 33, of Suisun City, pleaded not guilty to a murder charge Monday in connection with the shooting death of Bettina Brown, 41, who died Oct. 23 in a home on Steller Way.

Suisun City police arrested Moore that night at the house, where he had been staying for several days with two friends. Police were called to the home after getting a report of a gunshot. Police found Brown, who had been fatally shot with a .22 caliber rifle. Police found what they believe to be the murder weapon in a neighbor’s yard the next day.

Police detained Moore and another man at the house after the shooting, but released the second man from custody. The police have not released a motive for the incident.

Moore will be back in court at 9 a.m. Thursday.
