FAIRFIELD — The prosecution rested it case Wednesday in the jury trial for the sixth of seven suspects involved in the May 2011 killing of Keith E. Osby Jr.
Frank P. Bigoski IV has pleaded not guilty to murder and torture charges. His attorney, Amy Morton, is set to begin her defense case when the trial resumes Thursday morning.
The final piece of evidence in the prosecution case was a videotape of an hour-long police interrogation made after Bigoski was arrested in which he admits to joining six others in ambushing Osby inside a San Andreas Street home. After being beaten, Osby was driven to Vallejo, where he was shot and killed.
Three of the participants in the attack have pleaded to lesser charges. The woman who led the group and her daughter, Ryan and Tina Odom, were found guilty in separate jury trials of murder and torture charges.
The ambush was spurred by a belief that Osby had stolen a computer and a Sony PlayStation from the home.
The seventh suspect, Damarcus Armstrong, is awaiting trial.
