Police seek suspects in attempted pharmacy theft

VACAVILLE — Police are looking for two men who tried to steal medications from a Vacaville pharmacy Friday, but fled empty-handed.

Dispatchers received multiple calls at 3:01 p.m. reporting two men had jumped the pharmacy counter inside the CVS Pharmacy at 625 Elmira Road, and were trying to take medications, according to a press release.

Police said two dark-skinned men in their early 20s with short hair and baseball caps entered the store and approached the pharmacy counter. They forced their way to the back of the pharmacy and demanded prescription medication, according to the release. Police said employees struggled with the men and prevented them from taking anything from the store.

Officers responded to the store, but employees said the suspects had already fled. Officers were unable to find them. One of the men could possibly be armed with a handgun, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Officer Dale Hogg at 449-5200.
