FAIRFIELD — Police are seeking a prowler who’s been lurking in a central Fairfield neighborhood this summer and was twice caught in the dead of night in people’s bedrooms.
The man entered occupied homes in the early morning hours, once in late July and again Sunday, in the area of Utah Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Callers reported that they awoke to find a man standing in their bedroom.
The man walked calmly to the front door of the homes and left when confronted by residents. He was seen running away from the Sunday incident, headed toward the downtown area.
Police describe the man as either a white or Hispanic, 20 to 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall with short hair. He has been described as having a medium build.
Authorities ask residents to avoid leaving their windows open or unlocked during times of warm weather.
If anyone sees anything suspicious in their neighborhood or someone matching the suspect’s description, authorities ask that they call police at 428-7300.
