VACAVILLE — Police are searching for three people suspected of an armed robbery early Monday morning along a community bike path.

Six people were walking home at about 12:18 a.m. along the bike path behind a grocery store on the 800 block of Davis Street when they were confronted by three other people, one allegedly with a handgun, according to information released Tuesday. The suspects allegedly took money out of the victims’ wallets and gave back the wallets, and also took their cellphones.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic males and one Hispanic female between the ages of 18 and 22. One male suspect has a pony tail, no facial hair and was wearing a black sweatshirt and black beanie. The second male had a shaved head, no facial hair, was wearing a red shirt, khaki shorts, long white socks and was armed with a handgun. The female was described only as wearing a short black sweatshirt and dark pants.

They were last seen running through the WinCo parking lot toward Davis Street.

Police believe, based on suspect descriptions, that the suspects could have been involved in a robbery that happened Jan. 15 in a parking lot behind a business on the 500 block of Main Street, according to a city press release.

Anyone with information about either of the two robberies is asked to call 449-5200.
