FAIRFIELD — The name of the man killed in Saturday’s shooting just north of Travis Boulevard is Gustavo Banda, Fairfield police said Tuesday about the incident that also wounded a 15-year-old boy.

The teen was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the shoulder. His name is not being released.

Police responded at 10:42 p.m. Saturday to NorthBay Medical Center about the two gunshot victims who came into the hospital after a shooting. Tuesday was the first time the police released the location of the shooting, which they identified as Union Avenue, just north of Travis Boulevard.

Banda was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Detectives from the Special Operations Team responded to the scene and the homicide investigation is ongoing, police said. It was the fifth homicide of the year in the Fairfield-Suisun City area and the third in an eight-day period.
