VACAVILLE — A suspect in a hit-and-run Sunday that injured three children in a north Vacaville neighborhood was arrested later that day at a motel about 40 miles north of the incident, Vacaville police said.
Wesley Murray, 31, of San Jose, was booked into Yolo County Jail after police received information at about 6 p.m. Sunday that the suspected driver of the vehicle hit struck the children around 3 p.m when they were playing on Monticello Court in Vacaville was at a motel in Dunnigan.
Witnesses told police a white Chevy pickup with Arizona license plates hit the children.
An ambulance took two of the children to an area trauma hospital while an air ambulance took one of the children to U.C. Davis Medical Center. The children, ages 9, 7 and 6, were listed as stable. Their medical condition was not released.
Yolo County sheriff’s deputies contacted Murray at the motel and arrested him on multiple, unrelated outstanding warrants. Murray allegedly admitted later to being to the driver in the hit and run, police said. The vehicle he was driving was later found in Winters.
