FAIRFIELD — Police have arrested a 17-year-old male Fairfield resident in connection to a shooting on Sunset Avenue earlier this month.
The unidentified teen was arrested late Friday and is accused of shooting at a vehicle occupied by four people while they drove into Fairfield near the railroad tracks, police said. Reports said the teen fled on foot into Suisun City.
The incident took place on the afternoon of Dec. 5 when two adults and two juveniles were fired upon. They fled the area and later contacted police, according to reports. Police said the witnesses were not cooperative, but they soon identified the 17-year-old suspect.
A search warrant was served at a home on the 900 block of Daniel Street in Fairfield, where the suspect was taken into custody without incident. Police said they found evidence inside the residence.
Police said they are looking into whether or not the incident was related to gang activity.
