VACAVILLE — Police announced Monday that a 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with a shooting Aug. 16 in Meadowlands Park.
The shooting occurred at approximately 1:22 a.m. after the shooting victim grabbed a plastic bottle of cocaine from a drug dealer and tried to run off before he was shot twice in the back, according to court records.
The shooting victim told police he had agreed to buy $100 of cocaine earlier in the evening and had gone to the park to complete the drug deal.
The accused teen gunman was arrested and booked into juvenile hall without incident. He made his first court appearance Tuesday morning.
The arrest came after police served a search warrant on a home on the 500 block of Chateau Way in connection with the shooting.
The shooting remained under investigation by the Vacaville Police Department’s Investigative Services Section.
